PwC UK has announced changes to its hybrid working model, requiring employees to spend more time working in-person. Starting from January 2025, staff will be expected to spend at least three days a week, or 60% of their time, in the office or with clients. This marks an adjustment from the previous policy of two to three days a week, which was not consistently adhered to across the organization.

In a memo shared with its 26,000 UK employees, PwC emphasized that in-person collaboration is key to building strong relationships, offering a differentiated client experience, and fostering a positive learning and coaching environment. The firm noted that physical presence is crucial for the company's business, especially in areas like client service and employee development. However, PwC maintains a commitment to flexibility through a continued hybrid working approach.

Laura Hinton, PwC UK's Managing Partner, highlighted that this adjustment aligns with the company's focus on clients and staff development, while also providing employees time to adapt to the new policy before its full implementation.

Employees’ work location data will be tracked and shared with them monthly to ensure fair and consistent application of the new guidelines. While many employees are already working more in-person, the company acknowledges that some staff may need time to adjust to the increased in-office presence.
